Shatrughan Sinha, the veteran actor and Trinamool Congress MP has emerged victorious from the Asansol constituency in West Bengal. Celebrating her father's win in the Lok Sabha elections, Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha expressed her gratitude to her father and the people of Asansol on her Instagram handle.
Alongside glimpses of the celebration, she also shared a heartfelt moment capturing her father's smile. The actress made it clear that she is extremely happy with her father's victory.
Sonakshi shared photos and videos of her father, Shatrughan Sinha, on her Instagram Stories. In the first story, she wrote, "Thank you to the people of Asansol."
The second picture captioned, "That winning smile," showed Shatrughan Sinha and his wife Poonam displaying a victory sign together. Both of them radiated joy and happiness after the victory.
Shatrughan Sinha won the Asansol seat with a significant margin, defeating BJP candidate Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia by a margin of 59,564 votes.
In the fourth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on May 13, 2024, voting took place in the Asansol constituency. Before the voting day in Asansol, Sonakshi Sinha urged people to vote for her father.
Describing her father as a leader known for honesty, foresight, and dedication, the Bollywood actress posted on her Instagram handle, "Asansol... today it's your turn to vote... Your vote matters, give it importance for progress, unity, and prosperity."
