During the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the team of BJP candidate Pranat Tudu from Jhargram, West Bengal, was heavily attacked, resulting in injuries to his security personnel.

The party has accused the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers of being responsible for the attack.

The BJP alleged that TMC workers attacked the convoy while Tudu was visiting a polling station in the Garbeta area of West Medinipur district, following complaints that voters were being intimidated.

Video Related To The Incident Has Emerged

A video related to the incident shows a crowd pelting stones and chasing the BJP candidate, his security team, and several media crews.

As the attack unfolded, his security personnel immediately responded and safely evacuated him from the scene. The BJP leader's car was also damaged in the attack.

TMC Dismisses BJP Claims

Let us tell you that, Tudu is up against Trinamool Congress’s Kalipad Soren and CPI (M)’s Sonamani. Amid the ongoing exchange of accusations, the TMC has dismissed the BJP's claims and alleged that Tudu's security personnel assaulted a woman.

According to the TMC, the incident occurred at a polling station in Garbeta where a woman was waiting in line to cast her vote.

The party stated on the microblogging site X, "The BJP's anti-women policy is no longer confined to words; it is now evident in their actions. From the Central forces disrespecting women to the BJP candidate Pranab Tudu’s security personnel physically assaulting a woman waiting to vote, their attacks on the mothers and sisters of Bengal are becoming more brazen by the day. When the Prime Minister himself sets the tone with his misogynistic behavior, what more can we expect from his subordinates?”
