Wife Burnt Alive in Telangana

A local Telangana court on Friday sentenced a man to eight years in prison for murdering his wife. In fact, the court sentenced the man to eight years of rigorous imprisonment for killing his wife four years ago. The 24-year-old man named Pittala Kiran was sentenced by the Additional District Judge (ADJ) court to eight years of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 2,000.

On December 31, 2015, Kiran came home drunk and quarreled over some issues with her wife. After which he abused and beat her. Later, he poured kerosene on his wife and set the house on fire from outside.

On 6 January 2016, the woman died of burns while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. According to the police, a case was registered against Sections 302 (murder) and 498 (A) (husband under cruelty) of the Indian Penalty. A code (IPC) was filed against him and a charge sheet was filed after investigation.
