In a formal meeting at the Nagar Panchayat Burhapur office of Bijnor district, the father of the female councilor was strangled to death in the presence of the chairman and the councilors. The incident caused sensation in the area. The accused in the murder is the brother-in-law of a councilor who has been detained by the police and has started investigation.

Nagar Panchayat President Mohammed Abid Ansari called a formal meeting of the councilors in the office to discuss development works at around 2.30 pm on Friday. Several members and their families also attended the meeting. Everyone was having breakfast in the Speaker's Room. In the meantime, there was a dispute in the case of Naushad Baba, the brother-in-law of Mahila Sashad Shahin, and Irfan Ansari alias Padhan, father of Mahila Sashad Afroz Jahan. Naushad Baba strangled Irrfan, making Irfan's body lifeless. The doctor declared Irfan dead when he was taken to the Nagina Community Health Center.

Irfan's wife Rukhsana alleged that Naushad Baba had a grudge against her husband. Police sent the body for post mortem and took the accused Naushad into custody. SP Dehat Vishwajit Srivastava said that Irfan died of a sore throat or from a heart attack, it will be known when the post mortem report comes.
