Raipur: BJP Leader Arrested for Allegedly Molesting a Woman

A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party was arrested on Sunday for allegedly molesting a 34-year-old woman. A police official said that after registering a complaint in the Civil Lines Police Station in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Prakash Bajaj (42) was arrested on charges of molesting. Bajaj is a member of the BJP's Executive Committee. A case has been registered against Bajaj in two sections and the court has also sent him in judicial custody.

Mohsin Khan, in-charge of the Civil Lines told that "In his complaint, the victim of Gayatri Nagar claimed that in 2016, he had given Rs 10 lakh to Bajaj to buy a house and the remaining amount was to be arranged through bank finance. However, when his loan was not sanctioned, the victim demanded to return the amount from Bajaj saying that he would not be able to buy the house. "Bajaj has reportedly seduced the victim several times between 2016 and 2018 in the name of returning the money.

The police said, "The accused threatened the victim not to inform the police or to anyone about the incident. He has not returned his money. "The case was registered against Bajaj under section 354 (breach of restriction) and 506 (criminal intimidation). After the arrest, Bajaj was presented in a local court from where he was sent to judicial custody for 15 days. Bajaj was the complainant in the matter related to the sex CD containing alleged involvement of then minister Rajesh Munat in October 2017.
