Prakash Javadekar: Central Government is Serious Over Killing Elephant in Kerala, Will Leave No Stone Unturned to Catch Criminals

Union Forest Minister Prakash Javadekar has reacted to the brutal murder of a pregnant Elephant in Palakkad district of Kerala. Javadekar said, "The central government has paid very serious attention to the killing of Female Elephant in Kerala. We will leave no stone unturned to properly investigate and apprehend the culprits, Indian culture is not about killing with firecrackers." Taking a serious stand on this, the Central Government has also sought a report from the state.

Let us tell you that the female elephant had eaten a pineapple full of firecrackers in the Silent Valley forest, which burst in her mouth and she died after about a week. Taking a serious stand on the incident, Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the Center has sought a full report on it and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

Female Elephant died on May 27 in the Velliyar River and earlier, a lot of efforts were made by the forest workers to get her out of the river, but they were not successful in it, the postmortem report revealed that she was pregnant and her jaws were broken.

At the same time, the state government has also taken this incident very seriously. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that a preliminary inquiry has been initiated in the case of Elephants' killing in the Mannarkad forest division of Palakkad district and the police have been ordered to take strict action against those responsible for the incident.
