Parents Filed Complaint Against 18-Year-Old Boy

An 18-year-old boy who has been missing from his family home in the national capital since December 19 for that police has launched a manhunt. The boy's parents filed a complaint against him alleging that he fled with his father's car after stealing Rs 50,000 from his mother's almirah and withdrawing another Rs 13 lakh from her bank account.

In their complaint to the police, the boy's parents said they fear that their "cunning" and "good for nothing son" might use the vehicle and the cash for illegal activities. A student of Class 12, his parents suspect that the boy has gotten involved in drug trade. They went further to claim that he took another Rs 50,000 from them a couple of days before running away on the pretext of helping one of his friends.

According to a report, the boy's parents also confronted his girlfriend upon suspecting that she may know of his whereabouts. However, the girl denied having any knowledge about the boy's plan to jump off the grid along with his parents' money and vehicle. Police officials familiar with the matter said that he called his parents and asked them not to look for him. He said that he had no intentions of coming back to his parents, said an officer with the Delhi police.

An investigation into the matter by police officials has revealed that the boy's phone was last active near Jaipur in Rajasthan before it was switched off. A search is underway to locate the boy at the earliest.
