The National Crime Records Bureau data for 2018 has revealed very disappointing facts about students suicide. According to the data, in the year 2018, 28 students gave up their lives in every 24 hours. In the last 10 years, nearly 82000 students from India have committed suicide and the highest number of cases were reported in 2018.

From January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2018, 81,758 students have committed suicide. Out of this, 57% students gave their lives in the last 5 years and 10,159 students took this step in 2018. In the year 2018, a total of 1.3 lakh suicide cases were reported in India, out of which 8% were students.

These are the reasons

In the year 2018, one-fourth of the students who died was due to failure in the exam which ended their life. Experts believe that students take this step due to drugs, depression, family troubles and relationships. According to psychologists, cases of clinical depression, schizophenia and other mental disorders and alcoholism are behind the highest number of suicides.

At the same time, sociologists and rights activists say that this is a psycho-social problem. Sociologist Samata Deshmane says that students are unable to keep up with the changes in society. He said that humans are social animals, but today people are becoming less social, more alone.
