National Security Advisor Ajit Kumar Doval arrived in Srinagar after about a month on Wednesday amid the terrorist attack hovering in Jammu and Kashmir. He held a meeting with security and administrative officials and took feedback on law and order. He is on a two-day tour whose time period may also be increased.

Officials said that after reaching Srinagar, the National Security Advisor has held a meeting with police, central intelligence agencies and paramilitary to get feedback on the current law and order. He has also met three senior civil administration officials separately. Regarding Doval's visit to Kashmir and other cities and towns outside Srinagar, officials said that there is no such plan yet.

According to senior officials of the state administration, the National Security Advisor is constantly monitoring the situation in the state. He has been receiving daily feedback from the concerned authorities in Delhi on the state of the state to ensure close coordination between security agencies from the interior areas of the Wadi to the Line of Control.

Officials said that Doval will discuss the current situation during the Kashmir visit, the release of detained political people and the strategy of uninterrupted implementation of the plan to divide Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.

This is Doval's second visit to Kashmir in the last two months. After the Center removed 370 from Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, it has been divided into two Union Territories. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will come into existence as two separate union territories on 31 October. Further strategies for smooth implementation of government schemes will also be discussed.
