Mumbai: Actress Kriti Sanon recited a poem on social media, urging her to report cases of domestic violence amid a nationwide lockdown. She said domestic violence is not good. Kriti has shared the video reciting the poem from her instagram account. In this, Kriti has told that she wrote this poem long back in class 11, but because she thinks about it a lot, she still remembers it.

In the post's caption, she wrote, "Stand up for yourself and get the report filed because it's not OK. These are heart-breaking cases that domestic violence cases in the country have doubled in the lockdown period. Of these, 700 cases are from Punjab, and these are the ones who have been registered. Think of how many people have not been complained about it till now. Stand up for yourself. It is not right that someone gives you physical trouble. Whatever the reason is, this is not right".

She said, "If you have domestic violence, you should report it. I wrote this poem when one day our house helper was crying to my mother telling her story. She told how her husband got drunk and beat them. Hearing the story of his house helper, Kriti composed this poem".
