The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) said in a fresh advisory, "The phishing and malware campaign has been active since around 12 September. It is targeting financial organizations and taxpayers. In this campaign fake emails are being sent. , Which sound like an e-mail sent by the Income Tax Department. "

A senior income tax official said that people need to be vigilant about the income tax and fake e-mails related to the bank. There are two types of fake e-mails mentioned in this advisory. The first e-mail has an .img or .pif file attached. At the same time, people are asked to download the .pif file in another type of e-mail. It is called to go to the incometaxindia.info domain. The advisory states that this domain has now been discontinued. Also, it has been warned that neither click nor open any file in such suspicious emails.
