BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar is Convicted of Raping Minor in Unaao, SC Declared

BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was expelled from BJP in Unnao rape case, was convicted in the rape case. The Tis Hazari court of Delhi gave its verdict today against Kuldeep Sengar. The court also reprimanded the CBI for the delay in filing the chargesheet, blaming MLA Sengar in the 2017 kidnapping and rape case. The woman accused Shashi Singh was acquitted by the court.

The court said in its order that Sanger's sentence will be announced on the 19th. In Unnao case, the court gave a decision on one case, but the decision on 4 other cases is yet to come. The court considered the mobile location of MLA Sengar as important evidence. In its judgment, the court said that there is evidence that the victim was taken by Shashi Singh to the convicted MLA. Sanger was convicted under section 376, section 5 (c) and pocso act of IPC.

Minor raped in 2017

Sanger raped a woman in 2017 after kidnapping her. The girl was a minor at that time. The court has also framed charges against co-accused Shashi Singh. Sengar, who became the fourth time MLA from Uttar Pradesh's Bangarmau assembly seat, was expelled from the BJP in August 2019 after the case. The court had on August 9 framed charges against the MLA and Singh under sections related to criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, rape and pocso law.
