A 25-year old man identified as Maharufkhan Pathan allegedly bit two girls after a minor altercation over a barking stray dog in Isanpur locality of the city on Monday evening. The girls, aged 16 and 17, used to take care of the stray dog.

On Monday, Maharuf rushed to the house of a 50-year old woman named Qamarjahan Banu Pathan and asked her why they feed the stray dog, according to a report.  After complaining that the dog barks at passersby and had even bit him, the accused started abusing the middle-aged woman.

When Maharuf saw the daughters of Qamarjahan Banu, he rushed to hit them and bite them on their wrists so hard that it caused injuries. The neighbors came to rescue the girls and their mother.

At the same time, Maharoof's father Javed khan Pathan filed a cross-complaint at Isanpur police station saying that when they raised an objection to Qamarjahan Banu's family taking care of the stray animal, they were attacked by an iron pipe.

Javed Khan, in his complaint, said that when he asked the woman to keep their pet dog, which is a stray, at her home, the woman abused her. Her son later beat him and his family severely with an iron pipe.

Reportedly, the injured girls and three members of Javedkhan's family were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police have registered a case of assault against four members each from both the families.
