A Man Arrested with Rs 55 Lakh Charas

GRP arrested a smuggler on Wednesday, along with five kilos and six hundred grams of charas, from the standing Awadh Assam Express on the four-number platform of the railway station. The value of Charas in the international market is 55 lakh rupees. In the interrogation, the accused has given names of some of his other associates and GRP have been searching for them.

GRP Inspector Ajit Kumar Singh said that the information of smuggling was received through Awadh Assam train. When the train reached the platform, the team started searching. In the meantime, a suspicious started trying to run away after seeing the police. But the police caught the accused.

In his inquiry, a huge quantity of charas was recovered. Inspector said that the price of charas in the international market is close to Rs 55 lakhs. The arrested accused was identified as Shivpujan Mahato resident of Sirsawa Bazar of West Champaran, Bihar. The police team who included in the case to arrests the smuggler are  Choki in charge Pedroana GRP Upendra Kumar Shrivastav, Pradeep Kumar Rahi, Head constable Rajiv Yadav, Sadan Yadav, Constable Jitendra Goswami, Umesh Kumar, Satyendra, etc.
