Negligence will not be Tolerated in Sambhar Lake Bird Tragedy Case, said CM Gehlot

Chief Minister took a meeting of officers and took a tough stand on this matter. The Chief Minister directed Agriculture-Animal Husbandry Minister Lalchand Kataria, Forest Minister Sukhram Bishnoi to continuously visit the area and give details of the situation there. At the same time, seeing the seriousness of the matter, the Chief Minister has directed that the joint rescue teams of Animal Husbandry, Forest Department, Collector, SDRF etc. should be expedited to save the birds.

The CM said that no negligence would be tolerated in this case. On Tuesday too, he had instructed to take seriousness in the matter by conducting a video conference besides all the departments. The result of the Chief Minister's monitoring is that there has been a decrease in bird deaths on Wednesday. Only 441 birds were found dead on Wednesday.

It is believed that this bird tragedy has occurred due to a disease called botulism in Sambhar lake. Due to this disease, birds were also killed abroad. The CM has asked the state-level Wetland Authority to be activated soon for conservation and promotion of wetlands of Sambhar Lake. CM said that with the help of experts from various fields joining this authority, it will help in the conservation of wetlands like Sambhar lake.
