The death of a female elephant in Palakkad district of Kerala, which made the country mourn with regret and anguish at the killing of a silent animal, but after the news came out of the suspects being arrested by the police regarding the killing of the pregnant elephant, the issue came out to be yet another target at the Muslim community. Amar Prasad Reddy, media advisor to the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare (Kerala) was one of the earliest to tweet about the suspects being arrested and named them Amzath Ali and Thamim Shaikh, whereas he later also deleted the tweet, but till then the tweet already got thousands of likes and retweets.
After this, Live Hindustan and Sudarshan News wrote an article naming the suspects as Amzath Ali and Thamim Shaikh, besides this the anchor of the News Nation Deepak Chaurasia made the same claim in Hindi as well.
Later after ignoring all these fake news, in the information provided by Palakkad Superintendent of Police G Siva Vikram he stated that the name of the suspect who is actually arrested is P. Wilson. It should be noted that the information about the suspect being named P. Wilson was also reported by DD News Malayalam and Hindustan Times.
According to the information, Wilson works as a rubber tapper in a plantation in the district, whereas the Forest Department identified three suspects to be involved in the case, but let off two persons after interrogation. Further, Superintendent of Police G Siva Vikram stated that the other two suspects who were left off were also not Amzath Ali and Thamim Shaikh
