Vishwa Hindu Parisad welcomed Centeral Goverment step, in the matter of Ram Mandir

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) filed a petition in the Supreme Court, welcoming the acquisition of the unclaimed 67 acres of land acquired in the vicinity of Ayodhya's disputed site today, and expressed the hope that the court will deal with it soon.

VHP International Chief Alok Kumar said in a statement here that the VHP welcomes the application of the Central Government to return the 42-acre land in Ayodhya to the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. Trust had taken this land for the purpose of constructing the temple. The Central Government had acquired 67.73 acres of land in 1993, which included the land of the Ram Janmabhita Trust and also the Vishwa Hindu Parivar, believes that the Ram temple should be built as soon as possible.

Alok Kumar said that only 0.313 acres of land was disputed in the trial on which the disputed structure was standing. There is no dispute over the rest of the land. The Supreme Court has given the order in the case of Mohammed Ismail that non-disputed land should be returned to its owners. He said that the VHP is hopeful that the Supreme Court will give the earliest decision on the application of the Central Government.
