The Meteorological Department Issued Warning in Mumbai

Heavy rain warning has been issued in many areas including Mumbai in Maharashtra. Schools and junior colleges in Mumbai, Thane and Konkan region are closed today due to heavy rain warning.

Maharashtra's Minister of State for School Education Ashish Shelar wrote on Twitter, 'As a precaution in view of the possibility of heavy rains, all schools and junior colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Konkan region announced a holiday for today.

In view of heavy rainfall forecasts. As a precautionary measure, holiday is declared for all schools and junior colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Konkan region for today 19 Sep 2019. District collectors in other parts of Maharashtra to decide, based on local conditions.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding rain in Mumbai. The Met Office has said that the sky will be generally cloudy with the possibility of moderate rain. Heavy rains are expected at isolated places in the city and suburbs.

The Indian Meteorological Department is expecting very heavy rainfall today. Heavy rainfall alert has been issued at different places in central Maharashtra. The weather department Mumbai has recorded a speed of 40 kmph with heavy rain and strong wind in Raigad, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Satara and Sangli districts during the next few hours. An alert has been issued with thunderstorms.

An official said that the Red Alert by the Meteorological Department indicated to be more than 204 mm in 24 hours starting from Thursday morning. However, Mumbai will receive heavy rain on Friday, but in Raigarh, heavy rain will continue that day.
