Former Union minister Beni Prasad Verma, who has been living in the discussion through his statements, has returned from the Congress three years back to the SP. After joining the Congress, the party made him a minister in the Manmohan Singh government. Apart from this he was also a member of All India Congress Working Committee (CWC). He constantly attacked the functioning of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav but lost in the Gonda parliamentary seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
