The government has convened a meeting on Monday to discuss the problems facing the electronics and smartphone manufacturing industry and to make it an export hub. The meeting, to be chaired by Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, will be attended by the heads of all the big companies related to electronics and mobile manufacturing. The meeting is expected to discuss the challenges and incentives facing the sector.

The meeting is expected to be attended by CEOs of Apple, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, Qualcomm, Xiaomi, Dell, HP, Bosch, Cisco, Flaxtronics, Foxconn, Nokia, LG and Panasonic. The meeting will be attended by every section of the electronics industry such as mobile handsets, consumer electronics, strategic electronics, medical devices, electronics manufacturing services, components, telecom and LED lighting.
