The long tussle in Punjab Congress is over now. At the same time, the political stir has intensified in Rajasthan. Amidst the flurry of cabinet expansion and reshuffle in Rajasthan, it is being said that the final decision will be taken by the party high command. Congress Legislature Party meeting was held today regarding cabinet expansion. Before the meeting, the leaders of the Pilot faction raised slogans and demanded that Sachin Pilot be made the Chief Minister.
Rajasthan AICC in-charge Ajay Maken said after the party meeting that the decision on cabinet expansion and political appointments will be accepted by the leadership. Congress leader Ajay Maken said, "We will announce our decision (regarding the state cabinet expansion) soon." I will visit Rajasthan again on 28 July and 29 July to consult Congress MLAs on the appointment of district and block-level Congress teams.
Maken told reporters, "There is no contradiction between the party leaders and everyone has left the final decision on cabinet expansion to the party high command." Had a meeting with ministers, legislators, and office-bearers. Maken said it was an informal meeting in which issues like inflation, Pegasus were discussed.
Congress may expand the Gehlot cabinet in Rajasthan next week. Apart from this, political appointments will also be made in the state. Its purpose is to remove the tussle between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot and dissatisfaction between the two factions. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and Ajay Maken reached Rajasthan on Saturday amid intensified political stir in Rajasthan. Venugopal and Maken held discussions with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot late Saturday night at his residence on the issues of a cabinet reshuffle and political appointments. The cabinet expansion is likely in the next few days.
