Rail will Go to Court Against State Government on Financial Loss

Shivani Alakh

The railways have incurred an economic loss of 100 crores in the violence that took place during the statewide demonstration over the Citizenship Amendment Act. Railways will file a lawsuit against the state government to compensate for this loss.

According to railway sources, railway officials believe that the state government is responsible for the economic loss to the railways in the name of violence. According to railway sources it is the responsibility of the state government to maintain law and order. If the agitators were stopped on the way, they would not be able to reach the railway tracks or stations and the attack would not have happened.

According to railway sources, the department believes that the agitators are not from outside but are residents of the state. In this case, it became the responsibility of the state government to control them. The state government will not be able to refuse to take responsibility for the damage done to the railways during the protest.

However, no information has been received about which court will file a case against the state government. Taking the direction of the Supreme Court as the basis, the Railways is going to file a case against the state government.
