Prajnesh Gunneswaran Stuns Nikoloz Basilashvili at Indian Wells.

Indian Youth Tennis star Pranjesh Guneshwaran continued his glorious journey in the Indian Wells ATP Masters and entered the third round after showing another way out to another big player.

Qualifier Prajnesh, playing in this single-level single draw for the first time, defeated Nicoloz Basilashvili of Georgia 18th ranked Russian 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 in a two-hour 32-minute match. This is the biggest victory of his career.

In the next round, Prajnesh will face world number 89 Ivo Karlovic. World number 97 Prajanesh, who broke the serve of Basilashvili in the fifth set of the first set and then retained his service, won the set in 31 minutes. The second and third set saw a tough fight and both set tie in the tiebreak.

Definitely, this was a big match. I think I played better than the previous round. I had to perform better because I was playing against a very good player. A player who was in the form and is among the top 20 players. – Prajnesh Gunneswaran
