PM Narendra Modi’s Online Auction Of Gifts Has now Begun

Online auction of gifts received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last one year has started. PM has tweeted that the money received from the e-auction will be used in the 'Namami Gange' project. The souvenirs received by the PM can be seen at the National Museum of Modern Art, Jaipur House Delhi from 11 am to 8 pm from 14 September to 3 October 2019.

Union Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurated the exhibition and e-auction of gifts received by the Prime Minister on Saturday. More than 2,700 souvenirs including shawls, turbans and jackets are being auctioned at www.pmmementos.gov.in from Saturday to October 3 at the National Museum of Modern Art. Patel said that the lowest price for souvenirs has been fixed at Rs 200 and maximum Rs 2.5 lakh.

Patel said that at the National Museum of Modern Art (NGMA), an exhibition of about 500 souvenirs under the name 'Smriti' has been organized for people from 11 am to 8 pm.

Modi himself has praised the effort and requested people to participate in it. The Prime Minister tweeted, tagging the link to the e-auction website, "Whatever is happening, I have always believed in it. All the gifts and souvenirs that I have received in the last one year will be auctioned from today till October 3.

These souvenirs will be exhibited at the NGMA near India Gate in Delhi. Patel said that Modi is the first Prime Minister of India who has decided to auction all the gifts he received for the noble cause of preserving the lifeline of the country. Souvenirs include 576 shawls, 964 corsets, 88 turbans and various jackets.
