Nageshwar Rao Convicted in Contempt Case

Angered by appointment of Joint Director AK Sharma, who is investigating the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home case, the Supreme Court has convicted former Interim Director of the CBI Nageshwar Rao for contempt of one lakh and has been fined till the bench upheld Rao. In response, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that the file notices are clear that Nageshwar Rao was aware of the order of the Supreme Court. Let the court order that no official connected with the investigation of his permission cannot be transferred. The Chief Justice, raising the question of the speed of the transfer process, said that if an interim director (Nageshwar Rao) does not take a decision, then the sky will fall.
