Jaipur Foundation Day: Jaipur Turns 292 Years Old

The city of Jaipur, popularly known as Pink City, became 292 years old on Monday. The former Maharaja of Jaipur, Sawai Jai Singh II, founded the city of Jaipur on November 18, 1727, keeping in mind the town planning.  Ashwamedha Yagya was performed on the occasion of the founding of the city. This city, painted in pink, has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List this year. With a glorious history dating back nearly three centuries, this city, which holds its legacy, still holds its special place in the world.

Maharaja Jai ​​Singh, a lover of arts and culture, first laid its foundation on Gangapol. At that time Jaipur was established  for a population of two lakhs and now this city has now grown to a population of 70 lakhs. Now,  Jaipur is included in the metro cities of the country. Jaipur was built with the workmanship that it is considered the Paris of India. Famous architect Vidyadhar was also given the responsibility to estabhlish Jaipur.

It is being told that during the establishment of Jaipur, a boundary wall was built around the city, which had seven doors for entry. Even now the city settled in the boundary wall is called Parkota. There are three chaupars in the very center of the city. These include Choti Chaupar, Badi Chaupar and Ramganj Chaupar.
