ISRO Invites Private Companies to Build Launch Pads to Launch Rockets

Now private companies will also be able to launch rockets in India. They can launch rocket launch sites within and outside the country by taking permission from the government. Along with this, India's Space Department is being given a chance to prepare the launch site of ISRO. For this, ISRO has issued a draft of its new space policy.

Opportunity will be available in the new Tamil Nadu space centre

ISRO's first and only Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) is located at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Now another similar space centre is being built at Thoothukudi near Kulasekarapattinam in Tamil Nadu. For this, ISRO wants to give the opportunity to private companies of the country.

The draft of the new policy states that companies will have to take consent from IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre). IN-SPACe is a part of ISRO which works independently. It has recently been created to manage the space sector.

Market share of launching services will increase

Department of Space (DoS) head K Sivan said private companies can partner with ISRO and be a part of future programs in space transport. He said that through the National Space Transportation Policy, India's private companies will increase the market share of launch services globally.

In addition to manufacturing and launching Rockets, private companies can also build their own launch sites. Plus they can build launch pads on our launch sites as well.

Companies can give their suggestions

The guidelines and procedures are as per the draft 2020 of the National Space Launch Policy which has been made public. In this, suggestions have been sought from companies by July 21. The objective of the National Transport Space Policy 2020 is to give opportunities to private companies in the space transport system.
