Before the auction of the Indian Premier League next month, major changes have been made in the legendary teams of the league. While Kings XI Punjab made the legendary batsman Yuvraj Singh out of the team, Delhi Daredevils picked Gautam Gambhir as expected, who had decided to withdraw due to bad form in the middle of the 2018 season. Apart from Gambhir, Delhi has also removed Jason Roy, Jr. Dla, Liam Plunkett, Mohammed Shami, Siyan Ghosh, Daniel Christian, Glenn Maxwell, Gurkirat Singh Mann, and Naman Ojha.

Apart from this, the Rajasthan Royals also left left-handed fast bowler Jaidev Unadkat. The special thing is that Rajasthan Royals bought Unadkat for a sum of Rs 11.5 crore. Kings XI Punjab had bought the auction in January for the base price of two crore rupees.

Chris Gayle was picked up by the Punjab team at the base price of Rs two crore and in view of good performance in the 2018 season, he kept up to the expectations. The last date for retaining players on Thursday has ended. Rajasthan Royals has taken Ben Stokes, who has been bought for more than a million dollars. England's all-rounder Stokes was bought for 12.5 million rupees. Apart from this, Rajasthan has retained senior Australian batsman Steve Smith, who did not play in the 2018 IPL due to suspension. Apart from Unadkat, the Royals have excluded Anurit Singh, Ankit Sharma, and Jatin Saxena. Sunrisers Hyderabad, along with injured Riddhiman Saha, has also excluded West Indies T-20 captain Carlos Braithwaite.

Talk about Mumbai Indians retaining 18 players with them, but some top international stars like JP Duminy and fast bowler Pat Cummins and Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman have been excluded. At the same time Delhi captain Captain Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Amit Mishra and Prithvi Shaw have been retained. Earth made its debut in the IPL last season.
