There is news of relief for Team India that Mohammed Shami is fit for the last Test of the 5-Test series against England, although it is a matter of concern that there is still doubt about Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara. Rohit and Pujara are under the supervision of the medical team. The 5th Test is to be played in Manchester from 10 to 15 September.
Rohit suffered a knee injury during the fourth Test. At the same time, Pujara was also injured during batting. Both Rohit and Pujara were not seen fielding. In the second innings, Pujara scored 61 runs off 127 balls and Rohit scored 126 runs off 256 balls.
Rohit's injury is improving rapidly. He is likely to play, but a final decision on his playing will be taken only after getting the green signal from the medical team. If Rohit doesn't get fit at the right time, then Mayank Agarwal, Abhimanyu, Easwaran, and Prithvi Shaw could get a chance.
In Pujara's absence, Hanuma Vihari and Suryakumar Yadav may find a place in the playing XI.
Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami has recovered from an injury and is set to play in the Test match against England in Manchester starting September 10. Shami and Ishant Sharma were rested for the Oval Test due to minor injuries. He also participated in the practice session on Wednesday. He is completely fit. In such a situation, if included in the playing XI, then Mohammad Siraj can be rested.
India has taken a 2-1 lead in the five-Test series. India won the Oval Test by 157 runs.
