EC Seeks Reply on the Disputed Speech of Union Minister Anurag Thakur

The election for the Delhi Assembly elections 2020 is in full swing. Meanwhile, the chain of disputed statements has also intensified. After Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Kapil Mishra from Model Town Assembly constituency, now Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur has been accused of making a controversial statement in Rithala Assembly constituency. After the video of it went viral on social media, the returning officer of Delhi has sought an answer on it.

It is alleged that in Rithala Assembly constituency of Delhi, Union Minister of State for Finance and Lok Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh, Anurag Thakur, raised objectionable slogans during campaigning in favor of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. During this time, the crowd also followed Anurag Thakur.

This slogan was introduced before the arrival of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a public meeting on Monday in Rithala. In fact, during his address, Anurag Thakur fiercely attacked the gangs, who were opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Citizenship Register. In this episode, he shouted objectionable slogans from the crowd for about five minutes.
