In Aligarh, a complaint was filed against BJP workers for the road blockade during the demonstration in support of CAA. Civil Lines circle officer said, a complaint was filed against about 30 persons for violation of Section-144.

Amid protests in the country against NRC and citizenship law, the government has decided to update the National Population Register (NPR) next year in the entire country except Assam.

Approximately Rs 13 thousand crore has been approved for this. Other opposition parties, including the Congress, have alleged that the government is trying to link NPR with NRC. He says that NPR is the first step towards NRC while Home Minister Amit Shah has said that there is no relation between NPR and NRC.
