Center did not allow Mamata Banerjee to go to Italy

The Central Government has refused permission from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to go to Italy. CM Mamata was going to attend the World Peace Conference to be held in the Vatican in October this year. The program will focus on Mother Teresa. According to the report, keeping in mind the 'political angle', Mamata was not allowed to go to Italy. Actually, the level of this event is not considered right for the participation of the Chief Minister of a state. The conference will be attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Pope Francis, and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

TMC spokesperson's question 

TMC spokesperson Debangshu Bhattacharya Dev reacted strongly to Mamata Banerjee being denied permission. He tweeted, "Central government did not allow Didi's visit to Rome! Earlier they also canceled permission to visit China. We have accepted that decision keeping in mind the interests of international relations and India. Now Why did Modi Ji do this about his trip to Italy? What is your problem with Bengal?"

The community of Saint Egidio invites Mamata

The President of the Community of Sant'Egidio, Professor Marco Impagliazzo, sent an invitation to Mamata for the event to be held on 6 and 7 October. The invitation letter congratulated the TMC chief for his victory in the recently held assembly elections. The letter also congratulated Mamata for the efforts made in the last 10 years for social justice, the development of the country, and peace.

Prayers for peace are held every year since 1987

The Community of Saint Egidio has prayed every year since 1987 to promote peace. During this time celebrities from all over the world come here. This is the first time that Mamata Banerjee was invited to attend the International Peace Conference.

Mamata went to Rome for Mother Teresa's program

Mamata Banerjee had earlier gone to Rome when Mother Teresa was being given the title of saint. Then Mother Teresa was given the title of the saint at an event held in St. Peter's Square in Vatican City. She had attended this program as the Chief Minister of Bengal.

Mamata went to Italy and Germany in 2018

Earlier in 2018, Mamata Banerjee had visited Germany and Italy. Banerjee had participated in the program of Indo-German Commerce Industries in Germany. Along with this, she also participated in the Shardotsav and Vishwa Banga Commerce Conference in Italy.
