Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad has been taken into custody by Delhi Police. Earlier, Chandrasekhar himself tweeted that he is ready to give his arrest if all those arrested from Delhi Gate are released. Significantly, Chandrashekhar was also involved in the protest in Delhi on Friday against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Before being taken into custody, Chandrasekhar Azad wrote on his Twitter handle, 'If Delhi Police wants to negotiate, first release our people arrested from Delhi Gate.' In another tweet, Chandrasekhar wrote, 'Let all the people be released, I am ready to arrest. Friends, keep on fighting and remain united to protect the Constitution. Jai Bhima, Jai Constitution. '

Chandrasekhar had announced on Thursday that he would march from Delhi's Jama Masjid to Jantar Mantar on Friday. The police were preparing that Chandrasekhar be taken into custody already. However, Chandrashekhar entered the Jama Masjid by luring the policemen and the police continued to look for him for hours.

A spokesperson of the Bhima Army said, "For about three hours we also understood that he was taken into custody but around 4 o'clock he was seen inside the Jama Masjid and he read the preamble of the constitution addressing the people present there. Even the Shahi Imam addressed everyone and told that Azad is our guest.
