A bride canceled her marriage at the time of Subamuhurtham on her wedding day, shocking her family in Sankarankovil, Tirunelveli district. The Sankarankovil Sankaranarayana Swamy temple was the hosting venue of 21 marriages. The parents of would-be couples had registered to get their kids married in this ancient temple.

A large number of guests had gathered at the Sankaranarayana Swamy temple on this occasion. Of the marriage, hopefuls was a resident of Theni district, identified as Sinnakulampatti Pandiammal and what she did just prior to tying the knot was a bolt from the blue.

At the time of Subamuhurtham, the bride, Pandiammal, stood frozen as if she was possessed in front of the temple. She then screamed and fell down on the floor.

Her relatives were taken aback and tried to revive her back to normalcy. Suddenly, Pandiammal announced that she didn't like this marriage, adding that she would not get married in her lifetime. Both of the families were shocked after receiving this answer from the bride.

Her kin tried to convince her to accept this marriage but she was firm on her decision. Finally, the marriage was stopped and both families left the temple with confusion, sadness.
