2 Killed in West Bengal in Clash Over CAA

Today the Bharat Bandh has been called in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Civil Register (NRC). In view of this, states have made strict security arrangements. This Bharat Bandh of Bahujan Kranti Morcha is also getting support from other organizations opposing NRC-CAA. Demonstrations are being held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against citizenship law and NRC at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

The main agenda for this Bharat Bandh call is opposition from CAA, NRC and EVM. Apart from opposition, Bahujan Kranti Morcha has also raised the demand that NRC should be implemented on the basis of DNA.

According to the Pune police, 250 people have been detained so far during the bandh called by the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizens. These people are from different organizations and were involved in the protests.

In a clash between two groups in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, two people died and another was injured. A senior police officer said there was a clash between the two groups in Jalangi over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Two people died in the incident, while one was seriously injured. The official said that the injured have been taken to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital.
