French carmaker Renault has announced a three percent increase in the price of its Kwid model in India from next month. The company has said that it is taking this step to partially reduce the impact of rising production cost. The company said in the statement that this price increase will be effective from April 1.

The Kwid hatchback model of the company provides manual and automated transmission options of 0.8 liters and one-liter powertrain. The price of the Kwid in Delhi showroom is between 2.66 lakh and 4.63 lakh rupees. Renault has recently updated Kwid through various active and passive security features. These include the anti-locking braking system and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (ABS and EBD) and driver airbags.

Last month, Tata Motors had announced to increase the prices of its vehicles up to Rs 25,000 from April.
