World’s First Medical Metaverse To Open In UAE, Patients Will Be In Avatar

Shivam Verma

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has opted to pursue metaverse technology exploration. The government is currently preparing to open the world's first metaverse hospital, where patients will be able to come as avatars for consultations.

Thumbay Group, an international corporate conglomerate, will lead the digital facility, which will be online by October. The UAE hopes to increase medical tourism in the nation by launching this medical metaverse.

Now Doctors will treat patients in the virtual world

The UAE's healthcare authorities have engaged a business to teach chosen doctors how to treat patients in the virtual world, according to a report by BTCPlayers on Friday.

As of currently, the pricing structure for doctors in this metaverse has not been determined, although it is likely to be similar to telephone consultation charges.

As part of its objectives, the Thumbay Group will use additional technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR) to provide patients with a more comprehensive and immersive metaverse experience.

UAE appears to take the first-mover advantage in the Metaverse world

According to research, the metaverse business opportunity would be worth $800 billion (approximately Rs. 59,58,719 crore) by 2024.

The UAE appears to be stepping up its attempts to become one of the early adopters of this digital world scenario.

Emirates Airlines announced its entrance into the metaverse and non-fungible token (NFT) sectors in April.

The announcement came after Abu Dhabi and Dubai legalized cryptocurrency-related activities and enterprises in the UAE. Middle Eastern regions seek to integrate their digital economy into the crypto business.

Not just corporations, but even the UAE government, are vying for a foothold in the virtual world.

The newly founded Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) of Dubai formally began work on its metaverse presence in May.

VARA has revealed ambitions to establish a virtual headquarters in the digital realm after partnering with metaverse participant The Sandbox. The Sandbox VARA office has been dubbed 'MetaHQ.'
