The Central Government's handover of Air India to the Tata Group on Thursday, the airline will make some adjustments to its flights beginning on Thursday. This will be the first of them to begin serving a nutritious breakfast. According to private company officials, the Tata group has taken its first step in Air India by introducing an 'advanced meal service' on four flights departing from Mumbai on Thursday.
However, as of Thursday, Air India flights would no longer be operated under the Tata Group name. It's worth noting that the airline, which was taken from the Tata company 69 years ago, is now being returned to the Tata group, according to officials who revealed this information on Wednesday.
Tata to Take Over Air India
After a competitive bidding process, the government sold Air India to Tales Pvt Ltd on October 8 for Rs 18,000 crore. It is a subsidiary of the Tata Group's holding company. All of the legalities are nearing completion, officials announced on Wednesday. On Thursday, Air India is expected to be handed over to the group.
Meanwhile, the Indian Pilots Guild (IPG) and the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA), two airline pilot unions, have threatened legal action against Air India Chairman and Managing Director Vikram Dev Dutt. Multiple deductions and recoveries on the pilots' dues are thought to be the cause of this.
Tata to Take Over Air India
Apart from that, the company's January 20 order to monitor crew members' body mass index (BMI) at airports soon before their flights were met with opposition from two other unions. The Air India Employees Union (AIEU) and the All India Cabin Crew Association (AICCA) wrote to Dutt on Monday, expressing their opposition to the directive, calling it inhumane and in breach of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's standards.
