Government will Launch Bounty Program for those Found Lacking in Arogya Setu App

The Arogya Setu app was launched by the Indian government to track corona virus patients. This app gained immense popularity in short time. But for the last few days, many kinds of questions are being raised on the privacy policy of this app. The source code of this app has been published on public demand. However, only Android version has been open source now. Source code for iOS and KaiOS versions will be released later.

In the midst of constant questions arising from the opposition, the central government has launched a bug bounty program to find bugs in the Arogya Setu app. Under this program, the government will give a reward of up to four lakhs to those who find flaws in the app. This prize money has been kept in four categories.

Went on behalf of the government that if there is any question in the mind of the Arogya Setu App, or if there is any deficiency or suggestion, it is welcome. In the Arogya Setu, a reward of one lakh rupees has been kept in three categories of safety. Along with this, a reward of one lakh has been kept for suggesting improvements in the code.

People participating in the bounty program will have to make the app available to the open source research community. Under which users and researchers can give information about the privacy and security of the app. If found to be deficient, it will have to be sent to as-bugbounty@nic.in and sent along with the sub-line of the Security Vulnerability Report.

Significantly, for the prevention of corona infection, the Arogya Setu App was launched on 2 April 2020 in India. This app tells if there is a corona infected person around it. In this app, many important updates related to Corona have been given. So far, more than 11 crore people have downloaded this app.
