Poisonous liquor has created an uproar in Mahul Nagar Panchayat of Ahiraula police station area of Azamgarh in UP. It is being told that so far 9 people have died due to drinking spurious liquor, while the condition of 12 people is said to be critical. After the death of the people, the anger of the villagers has erupted on the administration. Villagers blocked the road and raised slogans against the administration. After this, the top officials of the district reached the spot and talked to the family members. The administration has said to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
In the midst of the election environment, many times the candidates also distribute liquor, it is not hidden from anyone. But this is the case, here liquor was bought from the government shop. These deaths have happened after drinking spurious liquor there. Some people were earlier admitted to the hospital in Pawai, but later seeing the condition of some in serious condition, they were admitted to the district hospital Azamgarh. The Election Commission is also eyeing this incident. District Excise Officer and Excise Department policemen have reached the spot and a thorough investigation is being done.
The SDM has also been sent to the spot and the administration is investigating how the poisonous liquor reached the government shop and whose contract is this. At the same time, the relatives of the deceased are in a bad condition by crying. It is being said that the liquor shop belongs to a relative of a candidate and the liquor was purchased from there. At present more than 12 people are battling for life in various hospitals.
