United Kisan Morcha meeting on Singhu Border today

An important decision will be taken today on the ongoing farmers' movement on the Delhi border. There will be a meeting of the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) at around 11 am on the Singhu border. In this, a further strategy will be made regarding the farmers' movement. A decision will be taken in the meeting today regarding whether the farmers' movement will end or not.

Some leaders are adamant on the demand of legal guarantee on MSP

Meanwhile, most of the farmers' organizations in Punjab are in favor of ending the agitation. They say that the demand for which they came here has been fulfilled. At the same time, some leaders are adamant on the demand of legal guarantee on MSP, withdrawal of cases registered against farmers and compensation to the deceased farmer families. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that the Government of India should discuss the demands of the farmers.

Agricultural laws are back

The agricultural reform laws against which this movement was started, the central government has withdrawn them. After being passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the President's assent has also been given on their return. While announcing this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also talked about forming a committee regarding MSP, after which the farmer leaders were contacted and asked to send 5 names, which could be included in the committee.

5 names for MSP also decided

In the meeting to be held at Singhu border, the names of 5 farmer leaders to be sent to the government for MSP will also be discussed. However, farmer leaders say that the government has not sent them any formal message. The meeting will also decide whether the names will be sent or whether a formal message from the government will be awaited. Farmer leaders are also asking the central government to inform the farmers about the time limit of the committee being formed on MSP.

Didn't get reply to letter written to PM: SKM

A day before the important meeting, i.e. on December 3, the United Kisan Morcha said that it had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi but did not get any response. SKM farmer leaders Balbir Rajewal, Dr. Darshan Pal, Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Jagjit Dallewal, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Yudhveer Singh and Shiv Kumar Sharma Kakkaji said that the farmers in BJP-ruled Haryana, UP, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh Cases have been registered. So all the cases have to be withdrawn.

There was no talk on compensation in Haryana: Tikait

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that a meeting of farmers has been held with CM Manohar Lal Khattar in Haryana. It was agreed to withdraw the case, but there was no talk of compensation. He said that till the talks with the Government of India are not finalized, the agitation will not end. In today's meeting on the Singhu border, a strategy will be made to take forward the movement.
