DM-Lynching Case: Last week, Anand Mohan, a former MP, was acquitted following a recent amendment to the Bihar Jail Act. However, his release has been challenged in the Supreme Court.

Uma, the wife of DM Krishnaiah, has filed an application against his release, and the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case on May 8th.

Family of Victim Speaks Out Against Anand Mohan's Release, Calls for Action

The family of G Krishnaiah has been continuously protesting against the Nitish government's decision to release Anand Mohan.

G Krishnaiah's daughter described Anand Mohan's release as a sad event, stating that it was not just an injustice to their family, but to the entire country.

Uma Devi, G Krishnaiah's wife, has also spoken out against Anand Mohan's release, saying that the public will protest against it and demand that he be sent back to jail.

She believes that releasing Anand Mohan was a wrong decision and that CM Nitish should not promote such actions.

Uma Devi urges the public to boycott Anand Mohan if he contests elections, and appeals to send him back to jail.

What Was The Case?

Anand Mohan Was Found Guilty of Killing G Krishnaiah

Anand Mohan Singh was convicted for the murder of Gopalganj District Magistrate G Krishnaiah, which took place on December 5, 1994, in Muzaffarpur. He was accused of inciting the crowd that killed Krishnaiah.

Anand Mohan was sentenced to death by a trial court in 2007 for the murder of G Krishnaiah.

However, the Patna High Court reduced his sentence to life imprisonment in 2008.

Despite his appeal to the Supreme Court, Anand Mohan has not been granted any relief and has been serving his sentence at Saharsa jail since 2007.
