Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's helicopter made an emergency landing in Gaya today i.e. Aug 19. This landing of the helicopter took place due to bad weather.

Nitish had gone on an aerial survey to take stock of the drought. After this, the CM left by road from Gaya to Patna.

Due to less rainfall, drought conditions have arisen in many districts of Bihar and the crops of farmers have been ruined.

Nitish had already expressed concern about the drought situation in the state.

Last month, he ordered a review of rainfall assessment and sowing of Kharif crops in all districts.

Drought-like situation has arisen in many states of North India

This time a drought-like situation has arisen in many states of North India. This year's monsoon cycle will complete in September but the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal have received below-average rainfall.

This time Bihar has received 41 per cent less rainfall than normal. The biggest impact of this seems to be on the cultivation of paddy. Paddy crop may dry up due to less rain.

In comparison to the average rainfall of Bihar, only 30% of the rainfall has been received. There is no chance of good rain in August.

CM has given instructions to face the situation

It received only 135 mm in July and only 83 mm in August, which is said to be the lowest in the weather history so far.

In the past, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed the officials to keep a close watch on the situation arising out of deficient rains and be prepared to assist the farmers.
