The International Cricket Council (ICC) has supported West Indies cricketers Chris Gayle and Darren Sammy against racism. The ICC said that all types of people play cricket and this is its identity. Black citizen George Floyd was killed in police custody recently in the US. After this, people from all over the world are raising their voice against racism.

The ICC tweeted, "Without diversity, cricket is nothing, Without diversity, you don't get the full picture." In addition, the ICC also shared a video clip of the England team's World Cup 2019 final. It carried the message of diversity in the game with a memorable moment of England's victory.

The England team is known for diversity. The team has a lot of players of New Zealand, South Africa and South Asian descent. England is also the first team to play with all these players. Eoin Morgan, who captained the team in ODI World Cup 2019, is a native of Ireland himself.

Earlier, Indian batsman Abhinav Mukund and former fast bowler Doda Ganesh had said that they too have become victims of racism on the field. Gayle and Sammy have also said that racism happens in cricket like all sports including football. They have also suffered from it.
