The second ODI between West Indies and Australia in Barbados on Thursday was postponed at the last-minute after a positive COVID-19 case emerged. As per the protocols, the players and support staff from both teams have gone into isolation. This is the first time that a match has been postponed after the toss due to the coronavirus. However, it is not yet confirmed when this match will be played.

The players, support staff and match officials were briefed about the matter after the toss for the second ODI between hosts West Indies and visiting team Australia, following which both the teams headed to their respective dressing rooms.

Cricket West Indies issued a statement in this regard:

Australia captain Alex Carey won the toss and elected to bat before the match was suspended. Australia replaced Wes Agar with pacer Riley Meredith, who was handed the debut cap after the toss by regular captain Aaron Finch, who was out of the match due to injury. The two Tests will take place in Jamaica from August 12-16 and August 20-24.
