New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult has described Virat Kohli as a great batsman. According to Boult, he cannot wait long to take Kohli's wicket in the Test series against India. Boult spoke to the media before the Wellington Test. In response to a question, "Talk of personal choice, I would like to dismiss Virat Kohli. So, I eagerly await the start of the Test series. But, there is no doubt that Virat is a tremendous batsman. Everyone knows how great a player he is."

The first match of the two-Test series between India and New Zealand will be played in Wellington from 21 February. Boult was injured in the Boxing Day Test against Australia. Six weeks later, he is returning to the team. Boult suffered a fracture in his right-hand thumb against Australia. After a month and a half, he is ready to return to the field. According to Boult, Wellington's wicket behaves similarly on all five days. This wicket helps the fast bowlers. Left-arm spinner Ejaz Patel has also been included in the team.

According to Boult, the Wellington wicket proves to be helpful for fast bowlers. Especially, it is not easy for the batsmen to compete with the new ball. The left-arm fast bowler said, "I am preparing myself to bowl on a good wicket. The wicket here has always been good and behaves the same for five days. I like bowling here. The coming week will be exciting. I can't wait anymore."
