However, Manchester will continue their journey at UEFA this year. The first leg match in the Super-16 with the Spanish football club, Real Madrid will take place on February 26 at the Bernabeu Stadium in the Spanish capital Madrid. The club's financial control body of the UFA has found the club guilty of misrepresenting sponsorship revenue, according to which Manchester made unlimited money from sponsorship breaking the rules. It also failed to cooperate in the investigation.

The investigation was started in November 2018 after the German magazine Der Spiegel showed emails and documents. The purpose of the FFP rule is to prevent all club owners from earning unlimited money through sponsorship deals.
