Team India’s Schedule for Second WTC Edition Announced

The first edition of the ICC World Test Championship concluded with New Zealand lifting the trophy. Team India had to face defeat despite dominating the league stage of the competition. Now, the Indian team is gearing up for the second edition of the tournament, in which the team has to play a total of 19 test matches against 6 teams. Team India is going to play against New Zealand in the first series at home. India has to play against England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia and Bangladesh.

The final of the World Test Championship was played between India and New Zealand on Wednesday. Batting in the second innings, the entire Indian team managed to score 170 runs. New Zealand had a target of 139 runs to win this World Cup final of Test cricket. Captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor shared an unbeaten 96-run partnership to help the team win by 8 wickets.

Team India's WTC schedule for the second edition:

Team India has to start the new World Test Championship with a 5-match Test series against England. After that, India has to play in a two-Test series with New Zealand in November at their home. The team will tour South Africa to play 3 Test matches in January 2022. After this, Team India will play a 3-Test series at home against Sri Lanka. Immediately after this, the team has to play in the 4-match Test series against Australia. In the last series to be played under the World Test Championship, India will have to play 2 Test matches against Bangladesh at their home.
