Team India Look to Build on Momentum against England

Akash Singh

After a brilliant 151-run win in the second Test at Lord's, India will take on England in the third game of the five-match Test series with high morale at the Headingley Stadium from August 25. After the first game ened in a draw, Team India bounced back thanks to impressive power-hitting by opener KL Rahul.

The third match will be played on a surface that is likely to assist spin bowlers. If the pitch helps the spin bowlers, there could be a chance of India bringing back spin attack into the squad. On the other hand, the England Cricket Board has announced a 15-man squad for the third test. Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley have been dropped from the team. Apart from this, after three years, batsman David Malan has got a place in the Test team. He last played the last Test match at Edgbaston in August 2018. Apart from him, fast bowler Shaqib Mahmood has also been included in the team. Shaqib will make his Test debut against India.

Team India leading 1-0 in the Test series:

England's medical team will monitor fast bowler Mark Wood, who was injured during the first Test at Lord's. It is expected that he will make a full recovery before the Headingley Test. England's head coach Chris Silverwood said, "We are aiming to return to Emerald Headingley next week. Mark Wood will be fit. Our medical team will work with him every day."

India defeated England by 151 runs in the second test match to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The effort of the team will be to strengthen its hold on the series by winning the next match. At present, the Indian team's fast bowlers are in excellent form and it is expected that they will once again become a problem for England in the third Test against England from August 25.
