The Indian cricket team will tour Sri Lanka in July for the limited-overs bilateral series. Team India has to take part in three ODIs and T20 matches series against hosts Sri Lanka. The ODI and T20 team selected for this tour will be quite different as players such as skipper Virat Kohli and Vice-captain Rohit Sharma will not be part of the tour as they will be engaged in the five-match Test series in England.
The team's head coach Ravi Shastri will also accompany the main team on a tour of England along with bowling coach Bharat Arun and batting coach Vikram Rathore. As all the senior players, coaches and support staff will be busy in England. The BCCI will have to select a new skipper, coach and support staff for the team touring Sri Lanka.
According to reports, the head of NCA, and coach of the U-19 and India A teams, Rahul Dravid will accompany the Indian team as head coach on Sri Lanka tour. Team India has not been announced yet for the tour of Sri Lanka, but there is no doubt that the bench strength of the Indian team is very strong and the team selected, will give a tough competition to Sri Lanka. In the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the tour of Sri Lanka, who will be made the captain of the team will also be a matter to be discussed, but former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta has hinted Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as the strongest contenders for the position.
Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Devdutt Padyakkal, Suryakumar Yadav. Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Navdeep Saini, Manish Pandey. Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Khalil Ahmed.
